The Justice Pillar of Pelahustán Monument · Pelahustán, Sierra de San Vicente, Toledo Image of Pelahustán, not of the place itself. Monument carved in granite in Late Gothic style, unveiled on 18 May 1635 when Pelahustán obtained the privilege of town status and separated from Escalona. Its shaft is circular, made up of several pieces, and ends in an acorn-shaped point above four corbels set at its base. Declared a Bien de Interés Cultural (Spain's highest level of heritage protection), it is regarded as a symbol of the jurisdictional freedom that the town achieved from its former lordship.
