Festivities of Santa Águeda de Montesclaros Activity · Montesclaros, Sierra de San Vicente, Toledo Image of Montesclaros, not of the place itself. The Fiestas de Santa Águeda, patron saint of Montesclaros since time immemorial, are celebrated every 5 February with a Mass and a procession in which the mayordomo or mayordoma hands out tostones to those present, and with the auction of the banzos that designates the mayordomía for the following year. On the eve a great bonfire of dry cork oak called the leño is lit, prepared by the village's quintos, who also provide food; the villagers light thyme bonfires while the church bells ring out. 5 de febrero Photo: Wikipedia / Wikimedia Commons (CC BY-SA) What to see and do in Montesclaros
