The perpetual jubilee of Urda Curiosity · Urda, Montes de Toledo, Toledo The sanctuary of the Cristo de Urda, in the Montes de Toledo, houses the image of the Cristo de la Vera Cruz, also known as the Cristo de La Mancha and venerated throughout the region. In 2005 the Vatican's Apostolic Penitentiary, by mandate of John Paul II, granted the sanctuary a perpetual jubilee: every year in which 29 September, its feast day, falls on a Sunday, pilgrims may gain the jubilee graces and the plenary indulgence. It is a privilege the Holy See has granted to only eight places in the world: Rome, Jerusalem, Santiago de Compostela, Santo Toribio de Liébana, Caravaca de la Cruz, Valencia, Ávila and Urda. The basilica's main door, the work of Cecilio Mariano Guerrero Malagón, is the Puerta de Bronce, which serves as a holy door in jubilee years.
