The pilgrimage is held on the last Sunday of May and commemorates the tradition that, in 1262, the Virgen de Gracia appeared to a shepherd named Magdaleno beside a spring, over which residents of Ajofrín built the hermitage of the Fuente Santa. On the preceding Sunday a procession goes up to collect the image; on the feast day there is singing at dawn and an open-air mass is held beside the hermitage, following the Ruta del Pastor Magdaleno from Ajofrín.
