Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción de Ciruelos Monument · Ciruelos, Mesa de Ocaña, Toledo A 16th-century Renaissance church, with a single nave and a Latin-cross plan thanks to two side chapels added in the 17th century. The tower, square in plan and built of limestone ashlar with a brick top, has three tiers: the first two from the late 16th century and the third from the 18th. The nave, covered by a barrel vault, houses a modern three-tier wooden altarpiece with paintings of the evangelists, an image of the Assumption and a crucifix. The two Baroque chapels, dedicated to San Isidro on the north side and to the Santísimo Cristo de la Misericordia on the south, are covered with false domes on pendentives decorated with plasterwork.
