The railway station of Yeles Curiosity · Yeles, La Sagra, Toledo Image of Yeles, not of the place itself. The Yeles y Esquivias station, which served both municipalities in the province of Toledo, was in operation between 1879 and 1988, at kilometre point 35.906 of the Iberian-gauge Madrid-Ciudad Real line. Built by the Compañía de los Caminos de Hierro de Ciudad Real a Badajoz, it had a small passenger building and several service tracks, around which a residential neighbourhood grew up; in 1910 a Cementos Portland factory was set up nearby, connected to the station by its own branch line. Nationalised in 1941 along with the rest of the Iberian-gauge network, the station closed in January 1988 when the Nuevo Acceso Ferroviario a Andalucía was built, and the track was eventually demolished and lifted.
