Hospital of San Bernardo Monument · Villaseca de la Sagra, La Sagra, Toledo The Hospital de San Bernardo stands in Villaseca de la Sagra (Toledo) by order of Bernardo García y San Pedro, a native of the town and nephew and executor of Blas García, secretary to King Philip IV, to house a set number of poor people from the village. The 17th-century building has a rectangular floor plan over two stories and a porticoed courtyard with Doric-Tuscan columns on curved bases, as well as an octagonal chapel that served as the burial place of its founders. Another chapel was added, dedicated to Nuestra Señora de los Peligros, blessed and consecrated on 29 September 1669. In the 1980s it housed the boys' and girls' schools and the medical clinic, and today it is home to the San Bernardo Cultural Center.
