Patronal festivities with open-air dances, novilladas and traditional encierros that have given the town its bullfighting fame, celebrated from 4 to 10 September in honor of Nuestra Señora de las Angustias. Its bullfighting feria, with picked novilladas and encierros, has earned Villaseca de la Sagra the nickname Pamplona toledana. The festivities coincide with the Certamen Alfarero de Oro, one of the best known at regional and national level, which draws thousands of visitors every year. In 1959 the town named the Virgin honorary mayor of the town, an honorific title that reflects the importance of this celebration in local life.
