The 1341 settlement charter

The place figures in the treaty of 1243 between the orders of Santiago and Saint John, obtained a charter of villa in 1315 and its own jurisdiction in 1331. In 1341 the master of Santiago granted it a charter of settlement to attract residents to a depopulated district.
