The Romería de la Virgen del Valle of Torrecilla de la Jara is held on the last Sunday of August in honour of the patron saint, with a procession to her hermitage during which the traditional Baile de la Pera (Pear Dance) is performed. During the pilgrimage, bids are made for the Virgin's litter, and to the sound of this ancient dance the donations of the faithful are collected.
