The hermitage of the Virgen del Valle, patron saint of Torrecilla de la Jara, stands in the outskirts of the municipality, next to the Fresnedoso water-meadows. It is the destination of the village's most crowded pilgrimage (romería), held on the last Sunday of August in her honour, in which it is traditional to hold bids for the privilege of carrying the image's litter.
