From El Pozuelo to San Martín Historical milestone · San Martín de Pusa, La Jara, Toledo Image of San Martín de Pusa, not of the place itself. The hamlet was called El Pozuelo after the well that supplied it. Between 1425 and 1430 Payo de Ribera repopulated it with residents arrived from Bernúy fleeing the drought and gave it the name of San Martín de Valdepusa, after the dedication of the new church. 1425-1430 Photo: ElJUANPE85 (CC BY-SA 3.0) What to see and do in San Martín de Pusa
