Church of San Sebastián de Mohedas Monument · Mohedas de la Jara, La Jara, Toledo The church of San Sebastián, built in 1427 on the plaza de España of Mohedas de la Jara, opposite the town hall, is one of the oldest and most monumental religious buildings in the comarca of La Jara. It was built in a period of artistic transition, which is why it combines Gothic elements, such as the pointed ogee arch of its main entrance, with others already Renaissance in style, such as the three round arches separating the naves inside. It preserves coloured stained glass despite having few windows, wooden ceilings and several altarpieces, among them the high altarpiece, dedicated to Jesus and the apostles, and a side one bearing the image of San Sebastián Mártir. Its bell tower, later than the rest of the temple, reaches almost 20 metres in height and houses five bells, the largest of them cast in 1700.
