The Casa del Obispo Álvarez is a large house built in 1790 in Mohedas de la Jara (comarca of La Jara, Toledo) on the initiative of Juan Álvarez de Castro (1724-1809), bishop of Coria, a native of the town and benefactor of the municipality. That same year, on his orders, the Cubilar bridge was also built, another of the works he funded in his home town.
