Rocigalgo Peak Nature · Los Navalucillos, La Jara, Toledo The Pico Rocigalgo, also called Corocho de Rocigalgo, rises within the municipal area of Los Navalucillos, inside the Cabañeros National Park, in the heart of the Montes de Toledo range. At 1,448 metres it is the highest peak in the province, surpassed only by the Villuercas peak, in Cáceres. At mid-altitude, holm oak, poplar and Pyrenean oak predominate, with an understorey of rockrose, broom and fern; higher up, meadows and quartzite rocks take over, where the Spanish imperial eagle nests. The ascent, of moderate difficulty, follows the Ruta del Chorro and totals 17.4 kilometres round trip, with an elevation gain of 750 metres; its most demanding stretch, Las Cornisas, crosses a rocky crag along an exposed ledge fitted with a chain. From the summit the Tajo floodplain can be seen, with the Sierra de Gredos in the background. Photo: Nieves Colino Martínez (CC BY-SA 4.0) What to see and do in Los Navalucillos
