The church of Nuestra Señora de la Luz is the parish church of Parrillas, situated at the foot of the Gredos foothills, in the Campana de Oropesa district (Toledo), and its main monument. Pascual Madoz's geographical dictionary, in the 19th century, already listed it as an entry-level curacy of ordinary provision, a minor ecclesiastical category within the diocese.
