A municipality of thirty residents Curiosity · Montarrón, La Campiña, Guadalajara Montarrón, in La Campiña (Guadalajara), came to have 426 inhabitants in the mid-19th century, according to Pascual Madoz's 1848 census, which recorded 106 households. The Civil War cut short that growth: the village suffered several bombardments that led much of its population to emigrate to towns in the province of Cuenca, and it was left so badly affected that it had to be rebuilt a few hundred metres from its original site. Today, with its 11.17 square kilometres and 821 metres of altitude, it barely reaches thirty inhabitants: 31 in 2025, a density of 2.78 inhabitants per square kilometre.
