The feast of San Blas, patron saint of Cabanillas del Campo and protector of the throat, is celebrated on 3 February. In 2022 the Asociación de Mujeres La Campiña revived, drawing on oral tradition and historical documents, the figure of the botarga, lost some 150 years earlier; it goes out through the village that morning accompanying the dulzaina players and, after the procession, reappears to accompany the tasting of sweets. In 2023 El Campana was also revived, a character with cowbells at his belt who announces the arrival of the botarga. Both figures take part in the Ruta de las Botargas, an initiative of the Diputación de Guadalajara that brings together more than forty municipalities from Spain, Portugal, Italy and Mexico.
