The feasts of the Cristo de la Expiración of Cabanillas del Campo are celebrated on 4 May and commemorate the locust plague that in 1857 was devastating the village's crops: the villagers carried the image of the Santísimo Cristo out in procession and, according to tradition, the plague withdrew towards the river. A confraternity was founded from then on in honour of this image, which organises processions and masses every year together with brass bands and open-air dances in early May.
