The Gateway to Hell of Fuertescusa

La Puerta del Infierno is the spot where the Peral stream flows into the Escabas river, next to the three tunnels cut into the rock in 1928 during the opening of the road. Local tradition tells that, during the works, the labourers heard strange noises and saw shadows moving along the walls, attributed to souls in torment or guardian spirits of the place. Today it is among the municipality's places of interest.
