Tradition of Beteta (Cuenca) celebrated on the night of 30 April at midnight, when the villagers sing “el mayo” to the Virgin, patroness of the village, to welcome the new month. It is one of the minor festivities added to the celebrations in honour of the Virgin of la Rosa, patroness of the town.
