Festivities of la Virgen de la Rosa

The main festivities of Beteta (Serranía Alta, Cuenca) in honour of the Virgin of la Rosa, patroness of the village, are celebrated on 17 September with a mass, solemn procession and offering to the Virgin. Throughout the year two further pilgrimages in traditional dress are added: one in May, to bring the Virgin down from the church to a hermitage, and another in August, to return her. The Mayos are also celebrated, on the night of 30 April, and a charitable event on 13 June, both linked to her cult.
