The feast of San Antón in Iniesta, in the Cuenca district of La Manchuela Conquense, begins with a Mass dedicated to the saint in the parish church, which opens the celebration. A procession then carries the image to the hermitage of San Antón Abad, where hundreds of the faithful wait with their animals - dogs, cats, horses, tortoises, birds and other pets - to make the traditional three circuits around the hermitage. There the priest blesses each animal individually, in one of the most deeply rooted winter traditions of the town.
