Roman villa of Noheda Nature · Villar de Domingo García, La Alcarria Conquense, Cuenca The Roman villa of Noheda is an archaeological site located next to this hamlet, in the municipal district of Villar de Domingo García, on gently sloping ground bounded to the south by the Chillarón stream, to the north by the hill of the Cuesta de las Herrerías and to the west by the N-320 road. Excavations, begun in 2005, have documented the villa's bath area and an extensive series of rooms, among them a three-apsed hall where a figurative mosaic was found with 231 square metres of surviving surface, made for the most part using the opus vermiculatum technique. Dating from the 4th century, it is renowned for having no known parallel in Hispania for its size and for the complexity of its iconographic programme. It has an interpretation centre.
