Church of la Asunción de Villar de Domingo García Monument · Villar de Domingo García, La Alcarria Conquense, Cuenca The church of the Asunción in Villar de Domingo García, in the district of La Alcarria Conquense (Cuenca), is the parish church of the municipality. Basilical in plan with three naves, it retains remains of an earlier building, such as arches and rib vaults, over which it was remodelled and enlarged between the 17th and 18th centuries. To this latter phase belong the Baroque altarpieces with Solomonic columns in the side naves and the Neoclassical altarpiece in the central nave. It also holds valuable carvings, among them a Christ on the Cross and an image of Saint Michael. Notable is its bell tower, sturdy and well finished, visible from any point in the village.
