Church of la Asunción de Valdeolivas Monument · Valdeolivas, La Alcarria Conquense, Cuenca Romanesque church of Valdeolivas, in the comarca of La Alcarria Conquense (Cuenca). It consists of a main nave, a semicircular apse at the head and the tower at the foot, as well as a nave attached to the south side with two chapels and a porch. The apse stands out for its three buttresses formed by bundles of three columns, topped with ringed capitals at the level of the cornice. The tower, square in plan, has four levels: the first plain and blind, and the other three separated by cornices with twin pointed windows; the last is topped with a 16th-century cornice. It is considered a notable example of medieval Christian architecture in the province. On 15 January 1982 it was declared a historic-artistic monument by royal decree, and today it is a Bien de Interés Cultural (Spain's highest level of heritage protection).
