Cave of la Mora Encantada Nature · Torrejoncillo del Rey, La Alcarria Conquense, Cuenca Image of Torrejoncillo del Rey, not of the place itself. Exceptionally well-preserved ancient Roman lapis specularis mines, connected by a paved road to the Roman city of Segóbriga. This translucent mineral was used to make windows before glass became widespread, and Pliny the Elder already recorded the specular stone extracted in Hispania. It is considered one of the best-preserved Roman lapis specularis mines in the world, and work is currently underway to open it to visitors.
