The church of Our Lady of the Sagrario, a 16th-century Renaissance temple located in Garcinarro, capital of the municipality of El Valle de Altomira, was declared a national historic-artistic monument on 24 September 1982 by royal decree published in the Boletín Oficial del Estado on 15 November that same year, signed by King Juan Carlos I and the Minister of Culture Soledad Becerril. It is listed as a bien de interés cultural (Spain's highest level of heritage protection).
