Robledillo River Nature · Solana del Pino, Sierra Morena, Ciudad Real The río Robledillo rises on the northern slope of the Sierra Madrona, in the Valle Hermoso area, between Fuencaliente and Solana del Pino, and runs through a synclinal valley within the latter municipality before flowing into the Montoro, already within the Guadalquivir basin. Despite its short course it retains water all year round and is home to a rich fish fauna, with threatened species such as the pardilla oretana, endemic to the river, together with the Guadiana boga and the colmilleja. Its banks are lined with alder, ash and willow groves, and holm oak woods occupy the valley floors. Near its mouth, the course narrows at the Estrecho del Chorrillo or Garganta de las Juntas, between the sierras of Solana del Pino and las Tembladeras, of great botanical interest.
