The Royal Gunpowder Factory of Ruidera

Ruidera was home to a royal gunpowder factory that harnessed the power of the water from the lagoons, an activity of which traces still remain in the area. In 1800 an explosion at the factory forced the renovation of the nearby Casa del Rey. The Casa del Administrador, built in 1783, belonged to the manager of the royal gunpowder factory and mills.
