Festivities of San Carlos Borromeo Activity · Las Labores, La Mancha, Ciudad Real Image of Las Labores, not of the place itself. Patronal festivities of Las Labores (Ciudad Real) in honour of San Carlos Borromeo (Saint Charles Borromeo), an Italian cardinal and Archbishop of Milan, nephew of Pope Pius IV, and one of the great figures of the Catholic Counter-Reformation alongside Ignatius of Loyola and Philip Neri; he promoted the founding of seminaries for the training of priests, a proposal approved at the Council of Trent. Canonised in 1610, his feast day is celebrated on 4 November, the day on which Las Labores honours its patron saint. 4 de noviembre Photo: This file is a work by Takashi kurita .
