From Las Otras Casas to Las Labores

Las Labores, in the La Mancha region of Ciudad Real, was called Las Otras Casas until the 17th century: it began as a hamlet dependent on the village of Arenas de San Juan, made up of farmhouses inhabited by people who had come from Herencia, which is where its present name comes from. It gained municipal independence on 22 January 1843.
