The Gigüela River in Arenas de San Juan

The Gigüela river crosses the municipal area of Arenas de San Juan from east to west, in La Mancha in the province of Ciudad Real, on its way to the Tablas de Daimiel. Its former floodplains, dry today, became so after the river's channelling works, carried out in the late 1960s. The altitude of the municipal area ranges between the 646 metres of monte Lucio and the 615 metres by the bed of the Gigüela.
