The Jabalón River as it passes through Alcubillas Nature · Alcubillas, Campo de Montiel, Ciudad Real Image of Alcubillas, not of the place itself. The Jabalón skirts Alcubillas to the east, on its way to the Guadiana. Its banks offer walks among groves and orchards in the heart of the Campo de Montiel. The river rises at the site of Los Ojos, five kilometres from Montiel, and runs for 160.58 kilometres as a left-bank tributary of the Guadiana, which it joins near Corral de Calatrava. Along its course, which first runs from east to west and then turns north, it crosses the Campo de Montiel and, further on, the Campo de Calatrava.
