Church of San Bartolomé de Valenzuela Monument · Valenzuela de Calatrava, Campo de Calatrava, Ciudad Real The parish church of San Bartolomé de Valenzuela de Calatrava was built in 1560 on the site of the former Andalusi castle, reusing earlier materials among which Visigothic crosses have been identified. With a single nave and no tower, it is topped with a bell-gable, and its interior was remodelled in Neoclassical style in the 18th century. It preserves a high altarpiece of polychrome wood and a Gothic carving of the Virgin, as well as a chapel dedicated to the Virgen del Rosario, added in 1901.
