Hermitage of el Santo Cristo de la Clemencia Monument · Valenzuela de Calatrava, Campo de Calatrava, Ciudad Real Image of Valenzuela de Calatrava, not of the place itself. The hermitage of the Santo Cristo de la Clemencia, in Valenzuela de Calatrava (Ciudad Real), was built at the end of the 17th century in an unadorned style, with a Latin-cross plan that was originally a single quadrangular nave and was later enlarged with a second nave. The main nave is covered by a false barrel vault on pilasters, and the pendentives preserve four polychrome coats of arms with the four evangelists. The two bronze bells hanging in its bell-gable date from the 19th century. Photo: Enrique Íñiguez Rodríguez (Qoan) (CC BY-SA 3.0) What to see and do in Valenzuela de Calatrava
