Remains of the original parish church of Pozuelo de Calatrava, destroyed by the 1755 Lisbon earthquake and preserved as a chapel. Small in size, 13.55 by 5.05 metres, it follows the hall-church typology, with a single nave and rectangular apse. It occupies the Alto del Polvillo, where the original settlement of the population was established, and its ashlar blocks were reused to build the new parish church of Saint John the Baptist.
