Church of Nuestra Señora de Gracia de Fernán Caballero Monument · Fernán Caballero, Campo de Calatrava, Ciudad Real Image of Fernán Caballero, not of the place itself. The church of Nuestra Señora de Gracia, in Fernán Caballero (Ciudad Real), is a 16th-century single-nave temple with buttresses and a gabled roof. It was burned down in 1837, during the Carlist War, together with the town hall: the organ was destroyed, the tower was damaged and the bells cracked from the bullets and the fire. It was later rebuilt with alms from devout residents, with three altar tables placed inside without a retable or other paintings to adorn them. Today it retains an attached three-tier tower, topped with a belfry and a clock of Art Nouveau design. Photo: CARLOS RAMÍREZ ORDÓÑ… (CC BY 3.0) What to see and do in Fernán Caballero
