Between La Mancha and the Montes de Toledo Nature · Fernán Caballero, Campo de Calatrava, Ciudad Real Image of Fernán Caballero, not of the place itself. The municipal area of Fernán Caballero, on the western edge of La Mancha and the south-eastern foothills of the Montes de Toledo, stands at 614 metres in the urban centre, although the Sierra del Perro and Sierra de Casalobos come close to 900 metres. Across its 103.96 km², the Manchegan plain alternates with the mountainous relief that links up with the Campo de Calatrava. The Becea river, dammed at the Gasset reservoir, flows into the Bañuelos, while the Guadiana borders the municipality to the south-east and feeds the El Vicario reservoir. The landscape combines broad areas of scrubland with market gardens and olive groves. Photo: B25es (CC BY-SA 4.0) What to see and do in Fernán Caballero
