The fernanduco-style bull run Activity · Fernán Caballero, Campo de Calatrava, Ciudad Real Image of Fernán Caballero, not of the place itself. The fernanduco-style bull runs are the popular bull-running festival of Fernán Caballero (Ciudad Real), held during the festivities of San Agustín, on 30 August, and declared Bien de Interés Turístico Regional (a regional-level tourist interest designation) in 2012. Its origins go back to 1850, making it, together with that of Almodóvar del Campo, one of the oldest in the province; until 1989 it was advertised as a Pamplona-style bull run, a name that was changed that year to the current one. The route, shaped like a V between the streets General Herrera, Avenida Macario Dorado and Travesía del Casino, allows runners to find themselves face to face with one bull while fleeing from the other; it lasts two hours and begins with rockets. Since 2013, stands and wooden barriers have replaced the agricultural trailers. Agosto Photo: CARLOS RAMÍREZ ORDÓÑ… (CC BY 3.0) What to see and do in Fernán Caballero
