Queen Clara of the castle

Curiosity · Caracuel de Calatrava, Campo de Calatrava, Ciudad Real

Image of Caracuel de Calatrava, not of the place itself.

Local legend attributes the name Caracuel to the face of an Arab queen called Clara who is said to have lived in the castle, although the place name is more probably connected with the Latin Carcovium.
