The closure of the Royal Factories of Riópar

Historical milestone · Riópar, Sierra del Segura, Albacete

Image of Riópar, not of the place itself.

The first brass and bronze factory in Spain, born in the eighteenth century under the protection of Charles III and of the calamine of the sierra, ceased its activity in 1993 after more than two centuries of smoke; the village turned to tourism and to bronze craftwork.
