The Auroros of Pozuelo Activity · Pozuelo, Sierra de Alcaraz y Campo de Montiel, Albacete Image of Pozuelo, not of the place itself. A group that sings the rosary at dawn on the Sundays of October, one of the best-preserved oral traditions in the municipality. The auroros also keep up the ronda de ánimas (round of the souls), begun in 1771, in which they go around the village on the night of All Saints asking alms for the souls to the sound of a small bell, as set out in their founding charter. On Friday of Sorrows they sing to the Virgin during her procession, and during Holy Week they accompany the processions of Baroque religious imagery with drum and ancestral chant.
