The festivities of Saint Peter Martyr of Verona, patron saint of Hoya-Gonzalo, in the Albacete comarca of Monte Ibérico-Corredor de Almansa, are held on 29 April. A few days before, there is a reading of the traditional pregón (opening address), which humorously reviews the year's events. The central event is a popular matanza (traditional pig slaughter), with the preparation of dishes such as ajo de mataero and tajadicas, shared among residents and visitors who come for the occasion. In the parish of Our Lady of the Remedies, an image of Saint Peter Martyr of Verona dated 1729 is venerated.
