Hydroelectric plant of La Recueja Monument · La Recueja, La Manchuela, Albacete Image of La Recueja, not of the place itself. Hydroelectric power station inaugurated in 1921, with a total output of 3,440 kilowatts split between two turbine-and-generator units, an example of the energy use of the Júcar River in the district. Water reaches the turbines through a 250-metre underground tunnel that bypasses a meander of the river, with a head of 11.74 metres, and after driving the machinery it is returned to the riverbed. In 1932 it belonged to the company Hidroeléctrica de Anralá; today it is owned by the Bilbao-based Barbo Renovables. Photo: DiazArocas (CC BY-SA 4.0) What to see and do in La Recueja
