Montalvos, in the comarca of La Mancha del Júcar-Centro (Albacete), has just 74 inhabitants (INE 2025), one of the least populated municipalities in the province, far from the 438 residents it had in the mid-19th century. Its municipal area covers 24.78 km², giving a density of only 2.99 inhabitants per square kilometre, a reflection of the sharp rural depopulation the town has experienced since then.
