Fair of la Virgen de los Remedios Activity · Fuensanta, La Mancha del Júcar-Centro, Albacete Image of Fuensanta, not of the place itself. Fair and main festivities of Fuensanta in honour of its patroness, the Virgen de los Remedios, venerated in the Trinitarian sanctuary and celebrated every 8 September. The sanctuary has its origin in a supposed Marian apparition of 1482, when a spring is said to have burst forth on the spot; the Trinitarians bought the hermitage around 1561 and built a monastery on it. The church, rectangular in plan and Baroque in style, is covered with lunette vaults and a dome with polychrome plaster reliefs of Trinitarian saints; in the old conventual orchard a chapel marking the site of the apparition is preserved. The municipality also celebrates, on 9 May, its patron san Gregorio Nacianceno, with a pilgrimage to La Roda and a cultural week from 9 to 15 August. 8 de septiembre Photo: Fonsantusab (CC BY-SA 3.0) What to see and do in Fuensanta
