Reserva Natural Especial del Barranco del Infierno Nature · Adeje, Tenerife - Suroeste, Santa Cruz de Tenerife A protected area of 1,843 hectares declared a Special Nature Reserve and an Ecologically Sensitive Area under regional Law 12/1994, formed by a deep ravine with very steep walls that is one of the best-known hiking routes on Tenerife. In August 2009 the death of a German tourist from a falling rock forced its closure; since then access has been regulated, with a limited capacity and prior booking required, and it is closed in rain or high wind due to the risk of rockfalls. 1994 Photo: Grombo (CC BY-SA 3.0) What to see and do in Adeje
