Factory founded on 9 August 1884 as La Fábrica de San Pedro by Alfonso Gourié Álvarez, initially devoted to cane sugar. It is one of the oldest rum distilleries in Europe, and its Ron Arehucas, with white and gold varieties among others, is the best known rum from the Canary Islands.
