Mining railway and thermal power plant

Historical milestone · Escatrón, Ribera Baja del Ebro, Zaragoza

The thermal power station raised in the middle of the twentieth century burned lignite from the basins of Andorra and Escucha, brought by a mining railway inaugurated in 1953. The industry took the population of Escatrón from some two thousand six hundred households to more than seven thousand.
